Discussions

Within my discussions I may appear to take certain “sides” of a discussion, I will appear to have certain beliefs and be appearing to defend them. I make no claim to any immutable beliefs.

My goal is not changing anyone’s beliefs, but to simply help us to look at the origin of them. Show life from a new perspective.

I welcome any and all feedback, disagreements, opinions, viewpoints, and thoughts.

Who’s In Control?

The individual is controlled by society. Society is controlled by the justice system. The justice system is controlled by the government. The government is controlled by the lobbyists and the lobbyists are controlled by the ultra-wealthy. It appears as if the ultra-wealthy are the ones running the show, the ones who are in charge of everything. But why are the ultra-wealthy building bunkers as if they're terrified of a mass revolt from society? If the ultra-wealthy were in control and actually knew what they were doing, then why the bunkers?
The truth that no one wants to admit is that no one has any clue what the hell they are doing. We are all just doing the best we can with the information that we have. The masses follow the "leaders" and like to believe that the leaders know what they are doing. The majority of leaders are just in it for their own benefit and don't actually know what they are doing either.
A true leader is someone who realizes there isn't anyone to lead, a true leader has nothing to teach. Humans are so intent on believing that there are answers out there floating in space and that someone must have access to these answers. The people who seem to have these invisible answers become the leaders, they become people who everyone else looks up to. A true leader doesn't consider themselves a leader. A true leader has his role cast upon them, and they have no need or desire to seek out leadership. When someone seeks out leadership, it's because they are trying to find the answers that they believe other leaders possess.
There are no answers floating around in space and there isn't one way of doing anything. We are all doing the best we can with the information we have. Those of us who give up trying to find the illusive imaginary answers and decide to simply enjoy life are freed from the illusion of leader and follower. No one is a teacher and yet the whole world is a teacher. Every life form that is encountered is a teacher and has something valuable to teach. No one can teach consciously; we all teach subconsciously.
We all want to belief there is a universal truth that applies to everyone, and we all seek it out. We believe this because we believe words to be real and since words appear to give us answers, we interpret this to mean there has to be a universal answer. You will never find what you seek using words, it's just not possible. Watch the world around you, live your life in the present, give up words and all the illusions that come with them. There are answers in the universe for anyone who seeks them, but they cannot be expressed using words. People all throughout history have tried to use words to explain the answers, to explain reality, and to explain God. Words never work, words can ALWAYS be distorted, twisted, manipulated, mistranslated, misinterpreted, and misused.
Look around the world that you see, look at the "leaders" of the world that you see. Does it really seem like anyone actually knows what they are doing? We are all free to follow our "leaders" but maybe we should ask ourselves just why we are following them and are they actually leading us anywhere that is helpful. We grow up believing that our parents know everything, and we never question them. We assume that they have the answers and that they are looking out for us. We believe that our parents know exactly what they are doing. To a child, parents are the ultimate leaders. As we age and become adults and have children of our own, we are able to see just how much our parents had no clue what they were doing. We see this by acknowledging that we don't know what we are doing when we are raising our children, we are simply doing the best that we can in the same way our parents did with us.
How many of us as adults are still blindly trusting and believing someone because we believe that they know what they are doing and that they have all the answer. It could be a religious figure, a political figure, a role model, or anything in between. We gained personal knowledge and experience and learned that our parents didn't know what they were doing. We also have the ability to gain more personal knowledge and experience to learn that the people we blindly follow so relentlessly now probably don't know what they are doing either. The more answers someone claims to have, the less they actually have. we call this overcompensating due to lack of confidence. A true leader never has to brag about how much they know since a true leader knows they know nothing. A true leader never tells anyone what to do, they simply guide by living their life in harmony with all beings. Love and Peace!

True, Yet Not True

Every word that is spoken is true and not true simultaneously. This also applies to combining words together to create sentences and paragraphs and so on. The order of the words has no effect on the simultaneous words being true and also not true. We can combine words to make a sentence such as "Johnny is a boy and a girl." to some of us half that sentence is true, and the other half is false. How can a sentence be true and false at the same time? Shouldn't a sentence in its entirety be true or false and not both. The reason that a sentence can be both true and false at the same time is because each individual word is both true and untrue simultaneously.
All sentences require assumptions and preconceptions in order to make them work. In the sentence "Johnny is a boy and a girl." the first assumption some of us may make is that since Johnny is traditionally a boy's name that must imply that Johnny is in fact a boy. We have decided the "facts" of the sentence before even reading another word of the sentence. We then get to "is a boy" and we have our truth confirmed that we were right all along, and Johhny is most definitely a boy, there is the proof we all saw it. We are no longer willing to accept any new words that would contradict what we know to have been definitely proved. And yet we are met with the words "and a girl"... which doesn't make any sense, we've already established that Johnny is a boy, so we reject these new words because they are so clearly false. The sentence becomes true and false due to our assumptions and preconceptions.
There could also be some among us who read "Johhny" and because they tend to think more progressive and realize that Johnny could be a girl's name too, they decided to make Johnny a girl in their mind. When they get to "is a boy" in the sentence they dismiss that information since it doesn't meet their progressive standards of how society should be. Finally, when they get to "and a girl", they gloat about being right. It's such a good feeling to know we were right all along especially when everyone said we weren't.
This is just two ways to interpret this sentence, there are more ways to interpret this sentence. Can you guess how many ways there are to interpret this sentence? I'll give you a hint, there are A LOT of ways to interpret this one sentence. As we can see this sentence is both true and false to certain interpretations of it. For some of us, this sentence may be completely true and yet for some others the entire sentence may be false. We can see this evidence with the fact that we all make all sorts of assumptions based on our preconceptions. Most of us decide the exact meaning of the word "Johhny" before reading any other words. Based on our decision of the meaning of the word "Johnny" all the words that follow are just words that are there to either confirm or deny what we already believe to be true since we decided.
You may say, I'm not doing any of this, I'm not thinking about who "Johnny" is while I'm reading the sentence, I'm just reading the sentence. The reason you don't believe you are deciding the truth about "Johnny" is because your subconscious is doing it for you. Our conscious minds can only handle a little information at a time. Our subconscious is essentially the fastest computer in the world with unlimited space. Our subconscious is so fast, it can make a decision before an event actually takes place within the realm of time. It's a pretty fascinating subject if you're interested here a quick link Brain Scanners Can See Your Decisions Before You Make Them.
It is our subconsciousness's job to keep us alive and healthy, it does that by using information from the past in order to predict the future in order to save itself time so it can be as fast as possible. Which means the predictions our subconscious makes sometimes get it "right" and other times it gets it "wrong". Our intuition is our tool to know the truth, a lot of us are completely ignorant or resistant to our very own intuition. We all have intuition as we are all born with it. A lot of us decide to trust logic over intuition. Logic can only take us so far; intuition is infinite and boundless.
The word "Johhny" alone without any other words has meaning derived through our personal experiences and preconceptions. Based on our personal beliefs "Johnny" is either a boy, a girl, both, or neither. Since this word has so many interpretations, we can say that it is both true and not true at the same time depending on who is reading the question. Every word works in the same way with the same process. We decide the "truth" of a single word and every other word surrounding it becomes either true or not true based on what our personal truth is of the one word.
A word only has meaning is someone believes it. If I say the word "tree" and no other human in the world knew what that word meant and didn't care to know. The word "tree" would be without meaning to everyone but me. To me the word "tree" would be real and to everyone else I would just be making words up. Aren't all words made up though? Think about it for a second, it's not like we chase words down in the fields of Kansas in order to get new ones. We make them up, if enough people agree, it becomes a word, if only a few people agree it becomes a made-up langue between friends. Words are made up and don't matter, so why do we all take them so seriously? We do we base our entire personality and lives on something that is made up. Why do we care if we are "ugly" it's literally a made-up word that only has meaning if you agree that it does.
Would you like to know how black magic and curses work? Black magic and spells are real and do exist and at the same time they aren't real and don't exist. Let me explain. You run into a witchdoctor and you're having a bad day, the witch doctor is annoying you and won't get out of your way. You say some angry words to the witchdoctor and right then and there he puts a spell on you and curses you. One of two things will happen, you will believe that he did in fact curse you and you are now Fucked! The other thing that will happen, is you will believe he was insane, and you don't believe in that kind of stuff anyways at which point nothing will happen. You have to believe that you were cursed in order for the curse to actually work, meaning you have to believe the words and agree with them.
Words are extremely powerful and can topple empires and kingdoms. There is infinite power within each word so be careful what you say. At the same time words only have power if you believe they do. If you don't believe a word, there isn't a thing in the world it can do to you, you are immune. Words can't harm you; words aren't real, they were made up and only became "real" when you agree with them. When you can see words as an illusion, they longer hold power over you, and you are free. No one can ever harm you with their words again, you see them as the empty nothingness that they are. Who you are as a person can never be interfered with again as the result of words. You are freed to become who you were meant to be, to be your truest self in your truest form.
When you are freed from the illusion of words, you still have the ability to "use" words as a tool to help others see past the illusion of them. Imagine seeing a child playing with an imaginary sword, you may join in and pretend to have a sword fight with that child with your imaginary swords knowing full well there isn't actually a sword there in your hands. We have the ability to play with the imaginary sword as if it were real. But... what if... we forgot that the sword was imaginary, and we started to believe that it was in fact real?
Humans are using imaginary words to play with each other. They have been doing this so long that somewhere along the way humans started to believe that words were real. Humans forgot that they were playing pretend with each other, and words become real. To reinforce ourselves with the belief that words are in fact real, we tell ourselves, all the wonderful ways words help us and all the benefits that come from using them. All the while completely ignoring the other side of words which is just all out war.
Many of us live in an imaginary world full of words that hold all the meaning of the universe and have every answer to every question we have ever asked. Never stopping once to look for the answers staring us straight in the face, the answers are right under our noses. The answers can't be explained with words because words aren't real, they don't exist. All we think we know is nothing, we can know everything there is to know and still know nothing. There is nothing that can be known with words, it's like trying to figure out the universe using an imagery sword, there is nothing there. The real answers lie within and without. We can find the truth of the Universe by looking within ourselves or by looking at the world around us since it is all the same, there can't be an inside without an outside.
Give up words, which are nothing, and gain the world while losing nothing, since there is nothing to lose. Or hold onto words and keep living in a world that isn't real, a world where someone can hurt you with something that is imaginary. If you believe that words are real, then believe this, You Are Loved and You Are Not Alone! If you see past the illusion of words, then I have nothing to say to you. Love and Peace!

Love Is Who You Are

Every single human being has felt and experienced Love. We have all felt the pull of Love. Love is instinctual and happens without any doing of our own. Love is what makes us survive and push forward. Love is what guides us and nurtures us. Love is within every single one of us. Aside from Life, Love is the only other verifiable thing that is within us. All identities, personalities, beliefs, ideas, memories, and quirks come and go. Life stays while we are in our body, before and after that is up for debate. Love isn't learned, Love isn't taught, we are born already possessing Love. We didn't possess life, before we came into life, but we did possess Love before life and Love will still be with us after life goes away.
Love can be witnessed by every human in existence and Love is experienced by every human in existence. We have not only a subjective experience of Love but also an objective experience of Love. Love is the only experience within human reality that can be verified both subjectively and objectively by every single human in existence who has ever existed and who will ever exist. If Love ever dies, we will all perish, therefor Love cannot die. Love is the only experience that is universal to all humans. Love is also the only experience that is not only universal to all humans, but to all life in the universe.
There may be different types of Love but for this post we are going to look at one specific type of Love. That is the Love between a mother and a child. Every child long for their mother. Often times the Love a mother feels for a child is there long before the child is ever conceived. Some mothers will feel the Love for their child when they themselves are still a child playing "mom" with their dolls. Mothers have a Love for their child long before they even find a person to make a child with. It is Love that makes a mother desire a child, it is Love that makes a mother seek out a partner who they believe will be the best father to that child. It is Love that makes a mother get pregnant and give up their body for their child.
It is Love that flows from the mother to the Child. It is Love that we all feel inside of us when we have a longing for out mother. We all know that when everything goes to shit, we all have the same thought, which is "I want my mommy". Even if you never met your mother, or if you had a mother but she was never there for you, or you were adopted, it doesn't matter all the same. We all long for our mothers, it is something we all have inside of us, it something we are all born with. We all have an inexplainable longing for our mothers, no matter how much some of us wish we didn't.
If it weren't for Love, we wouldn't seek out our mothers and we wouldn't be feed by them. If it weren't for Love, our mothers wouldn't have had us and even if they did, they wouldn't have cared enough to keep us alive. We only exist because of Love. Love is the only verifiable experience that we all share.
Life can't exist without Love. It is Love that is the instinct within all life to keep going. The holy bible says in 1 John 4:8 "Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." The main point being God is Love. God being the one that created all life. Love created all life. Creationism says God did it in 7 days, science says it happened in roughly 7 billion years. Science and religion agree on the order of creation, they simply disagree on the timeline. Science says chance, religion says fate. Can we imagine for a moment a world where science and religion stop paying attention to what they disagree on and instead focused on what they do agree on. Imagine the possibilities. The same logic applies to anything that are on opposing sides of an issue. If we would all just stop fighting about it and find a common solution, we don't all have to agree with each other about everything all the time.
If it weren't for Love none of us would be here, in fact nothing would be. Nothing can exist without Love; nothing does exist but Love. Love is all there is. Love and Peace!

Eeyore

To anyone experiencing depression, this post is not meant in any way to negate your experience of what you are going through. You are valid, you matter.
Eeyore is the perfect character to describe what humanity is like as a whole. Humans as a whole like to mope around and pretend that everything sucks and there's nothing to be happy about and always being self-defeating. Look around the world, war, poverty, famine, genocide, and plagues all caused by humanity being depressed. It seems as if humans have been depressed since time began, well at least since the time humans have been around. Hell, some of the biggest religions in the world literally have a story where humans get kicked out of paradise very shortly after being created into it. I mean if that isn't depressing as all hell, I don't know what is. I mean, shouldn't I have been personally given the chance to decide whether or not to eat the myself, why should I have to pay for one wrong decision or mistake of a couple people who lived thousands of years ago.
Just thinking about how we all got fucked over by Adam and Eve out of paradise is making me sad as I'm typing this out. Humans are exactly like Eeyore in the sense that they all believe there are so many things to be depressed about and nothing to be happy about. Just like Eeyore, there isn't actually anything to be sad about. Yes, there is misery throughout the world, but it is all self-inflicted. We all know that it was all in Eeyore's mind and there wasn't anything to be sad about. We know this because the other characters weren't depressed. If life were actually as miserable as Eeyore believed it to be, all the other characters would have been depressed just the same.
The other characters surrounding Eeyore knew that life wasn't as depressing as Eeyore believed. They didn't call him out on it because they knew it was a mental illness and that he deserved Love and respect the same as anyone else. They just treated him the same as everyone else. They accepted everyone the way they were. The other characters in humanities life are doing the same as the characters did with Eeyore. Look around the world, humans are one character, but we are not the only character in this world. We also have animals as characters, there are insects, plants, fish, and even rocks. We are surrounded by a whole cast of characters in all shapes and sizes. The rest of the characters in our story are all just accepting us the way we are. They aren't judging us for having depression since they all know that it's simply a collective mental illness and we deserve Love and respect the same as everyone else.
Take a good hard look around at all the other characters in our story. What are they telling us? Are they depressed? Are they fighting wars or arguing over what the right thing to believe is? Birds are always singing. When do we sing? When we are happy. Birds are always singing because they are always happy. Look at any dog who isn't neglected by humans and every dog looks like a child on Christmas all the time. Dogs get excited over everything. No one can tell me that cats haven't been living the good life. Cats have literally been worshipped throughout history. Cats are the furthest thing from depressed.
The fish known as Pacus are frequently described as behaving like dogs and with good cause. They can know their owners and like being petted. They'll implore you for nourishment and devour it directly from your hands. Fish have personalities similar to dogs and enjoy life. It's only when fish are put into cages that they become depressed, as a result of human interference. Plants are always dancing with the wind. It's hard to find any depression in the characters surrounding us except for where we have interfered.
Humans are just going through a depression. We will get better, we will heal, we are already in the process of healing. Humans won't always be the Eeyore's of this world but until that day, the other characters will just keep Loving us and accepting us just as we are because we deserve Love and respect the same as all of them do. Love and Peace!

Desire

Desire and possession go together similar to the way bees and flowers go together. You can't have one without the other. When we desire something or someone, we desire to possess that thing or person. Even the desire for an event to take place is the desire to possess something or someone. We desire to win the lottery to possess money. We desire for someone to Love us so we can possess that Love. The belief that we are able to possess anything leads to the objects and people we desire becoming objects of our desire. We no longer see the objects of our desires as what they truly are, we simply see them as objects to possess.
One of the most absurd things that we have been taught through modern "romance" is Love equals possession of the person of which we "Love". Think of all the movies, books, and tv shows which portray the idea that as long as you desire someone, they can be yours to possess as long as you try hard enough. People are not possessions, but we have been made to believe that we are. When one desires another, and the other doesn't reciprocate that desire, it can lead to infatuation and heartache on one end and stalking and murder on the other end. How often do we see people rape and murder with no semblance of remorse or humanity, it's because they don't see the person that they raped or murdered, they only see the "object" and objects don't matter.
Modern romance came about from history where women were viewed as a man's property and sadly there are still plenty of people who are alive today who still believe this distorted view. We can also state the obvious here that people were also believed to be just objects all throughout history by the means of slavery.
Why do we humans try to possess as many things and people as we can? That's a very in-depth question with a lot of variables but if we can simplify it down to the belief that we can if fact possess something or someone and not wanting to face the cold hard truth which is we can possess nothing it becomes obvious why. What can we possess? What can we take with us when we die? We can't take anyone with us when we die. We can't take anything with us when we die. We can't take our own bodies with us when we die, our bodies are left to disintegrate and go back to the earth in which it came. We can't possess our memories since they can fade due to diseases such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Since our memories are stored within our brain, and the brain is stored within the body, and we lose the body at death we also lose our memories. Same goes for personality, identity, knowledge and character. We don't possess our emotions or experiences as they come and go. Some of us try to possess our past selves, always living in the past and never the present.
As long as we attempt to do the impossible which is to possess things we will never be satisfied. Chasing and never catching is an extremely frustrating endeavor and a futile attempt. When we let go of the silly notion that we can possess anything we are freed to experience life as it is. Truly enjoying the beauty all around. Instead of focusing on specific objects to possess, we could be focusing on all that is constantly coming into our lives. When we let people go, it opens the door for new people to come into our lives who are more suited to our current situations. When we let of our past, it makes way for the present. When we let go of anger and resentment, it allows peace and joy to show up.
This too shall pass applies to everything in this universe. We Love that phrase when we apply it to pain and suffering, none of us want to feel pain and suffering. We hate that phrase when we apply it to joy and peace, we all want to hold onto our joy and peace forever and never let it go. Trying to hold onto joy and peace is just another way of trying to possess something. Everything comes and goes; all things must pass. Love and Peace!
